Demilune Top

or purchase through Ravelry

Demilune, (which is another way of saying half-moon) gets it’s name from the curved shaping of the lower hems of this halter top. The upward curve on the front piece paired with the downward curve of the back, give the Demilune Top a flattering hi-low profile. This pattern is a great introduction to short-row shaping and the fun part is, you don’t have to pick up any of the wraps! The wraps blend seamlessly into the garter stitch fabric.
Knit your Demilune top with 2 strands of fingering weight held together or with a single strand of DK weight yarn.
The garter stitch in this top is very elastic both widthwise and lengthwise. When choosing your size, select a size that is about 5 – 10 cm / 3 - 5 inches smaller than your actual chest circumference.

My test knitters described this pattern as: Advanced Beginner

Techniques used: Knit stitch, simplified short-rows, decreasing, basic crochet stitches (chain and single crochet), seaming Garter stitch (tutorial link)
